I was incredibly disappointed to miss seeing Emma in theaters. I had been obsessed with the trailer from the first time I saw it; it felt viscerally like a platter of all my favorite candy spread out in brightly-colored wrappers, and the universe was a stern adult refusing to let me at it.
Well, tonight I finally had at it, and I fucking loved it. But of course, the real test of any period movie is this: does it make you yearn?
